Why is it Important to Vote?

Do you remember your school board or student council when you were still studying? Remember those times when you have to elect them? Did you always participate in such activity? In school, as early as possible, we are already trained to vote those people who will be able to voice out and work on the needs of the students. This is not much of a difference when we talk about local or national elections wherein we need to elect government officials. Probably, the only difference is elected government officials administer a larger number of people with bigger problems. This is why voting wisely is extremely important.

Having a chance to elect government officials is not always given to everyone. Some countries exercise a kind of government wherein voting is not allowed. As a result, people who are not happy with the administration do not have any choice but to be patient and tolerate them. But if you are given the opportunity to participate in the election of your officers, why waste it? Most people think their vote would not matter. For them, one vote would not make much of a difference. But if a lot of people think this way, it definitely makes a huge difference. Every vote counts.

A number of people think that the government does not directly affect the ordinary people so why bother vote? In contradiction, everyone is actually affected in every decision the officials make. Taxes, roads, education, transportation, jobs, economic policies, and a lot more all concern us. If their evaluations on such matters are based on where they can be of advantage instead of where the majority can benefit, then this is also partly our fault. Elections are given to create an opportunity to put the right person up there; but for those who ignored it, they lost the chance of making their lives more comfortable.why is it important to vote Why is it Important to Vote?

One of the main responsibilities of the government is to voice out our opinions and act on our problems. This is why voting wisely is very important.
