Who Invented Candy?

Candy was first used by Ancient Egyptians in the worship if their goddesses/ gods. The two oldest candy types are ginger and licorice. In the early 19th century, the process of candy making began. The United States started making its candies in mid nineteenth century. The very first chocolate bar was made available for buying inside a ballpark. The birth of chocolate was in1492 during the discovery of America. M&M’s were made as the Spanish Civil War continued and they were invented by Mr. Mass. As World War 2 raged on in 1941, the M&M were on sale for the public.  M&M’s were greatly used in the military because one could carry them in any climate within a tube. Originally, they came in tubes but they now come in pouches.

The invention of Candy corn on the other hand is attributed to Wunderlee Company located in Philadelphia, PA. The candy was originally sold inside bulk containers. They were packaged in tubs, cartons and wooden buckets. Every year, 8.3 billion candy corns were made. In the 1860’s, candy hearts were unleashed by NECCO founder’s brother. The candy was forts made in factories in 1902. Pez on the other hand has been on sale for fifty years and it was marketed in the city of Vienna.
