High resolution speaks of to many people as digital images like digital photographs, CRT screens for television resolution or PC monitor resolution and digital television sets. Also referenced by this phrase are printers, photocopiers, scanners, and digital cameras. When speaking of high resolution in high definition and standard television sets, standard sets have the lowest resolution while HDTV’s contain the highest. Typical standard TVs usually have resolutions of about five hundred and twenty lines, of which the visible ones are four hundred and eighty.

Its image reception features a pattern described as interlaced, meaning the resolution lines are refreshed at the rate of thirty tps (times per second). This translates to that per second; the amount of completely refreshed images is only fifteen. HDTV’s contain higher resolution, either 1080p or 720p. The P refers to a progressive image. When compared to interlaced images, progressive images are refreshed at a rate of thirty tps. This translates to each second producing thirty totally refreshed frames. Resolutions on digital cameras are measured in megapixels. Megapixels are a million pixels or a million tiny dots being one of a number of colors that create an image. The two standards used by older model computer screens are SVGA and VGA. LCD monitors feature various resolutions, with the lowest being eight hundred by six hundred, based upon the aspect ration of 4:3, which is standard.
