High resolution speaks of to many people as digital images like digital photographs, CRT screens for television resolution or PC monitor resolution and digital television sets. Also referenced by this phrase are printers, photocopiers, scanners, and digital cameras. When speaking of high resolution in high definition and standard television sets, standard sets have the lowest resolution while HDTV’s contain the highest. Typical standard TVs usually have resolutions of about five hundred and twenty lines, of which the visible ones are four hundred and eighty.

LCD monitors feature various resolutions, with the lowest being eight hundred by six hundred, based upon the aspect ration of 4:3, which is standard.
