Tiredness can be caused by various physical triggers for example recent illness, breastfeeding or pregnancy. Tiredness causes people to avoid physical activities as their bodies are physically worn out. A poor diet results in the deficiency of vital vitamins and minerals that enable proper performance of the body. When these minerals are deficient from the body, energy handling processes are affected and one suffers tiredness. Stress causes tiredness. It can be caused by simple or complex situations ranging from moving house, work and family problems to recent bereavement. Sleep problems like insomnia cause people not get enough sleep thus leading to the person suffering from tiredness. Emotional causes like worry and stress are prevalent especially when there seems to be no solution to the issues related to the problem. This causes irritability, frustration and tiredness. Anxiety and depression are mental health problems that could be preventing from sleeping well and this in turn causes tiredness.
Being either too emaciated or too heavy can trigger tiredness. Overweight people strain their bodies to work harder than normal while attending to their everyday activities. The underweight on the other hand tire quickly as they have less muscle strength. Hence, it is important to engage in physical exercises, since these improve blood circulation, oxygenation of muscles and the utilization of muscles. Lack of physical exercises contributes to tissue fatigue and tiredness. Night shift workers, doctors and nursing mothers result in disturbed sleep patterns, which consequently lead to tiredness. Sleep is very important and the lack of it, disturbed sleep and sleeping difficulty results in tiredness. Other factors that interfere with sleep at night are day sleep and the consumption of caffeinated drinks or alcohol close to bedtime. Tiredness causes a lack of energy, sleepiness, depressed sentiments, discomfort and loss of motivation, poor concentration and difficulty when carrying out daily tasks or making decisions.
Tiredness can also be caused by doing too many activities or by jet lag. Diseases like anemia cause one to constantly tire especially after engaging in physical activities. Tiredness can also result from alcohol and drug withdrawal or during the recovery period after illness. Loss of energy is brought about by mental conditions like depression or panic attacks. Inflammation and infections trigger the body to produce numerous antibodies and white blood cells. This requires a lot of energy, which is often diverted from other areas and this causes tiredness. Chronic inflammation occurring in the body is a possible cause of tiredness.
