The law profession entitles one to numerous legal tasks and it requires experience and competence for one to sail to the higher levels of the profession. There are different categories of law and one may be required to specialize on one of the categories and perfect on it. The tasks of an attorney/lawyer are numerous and one may have to get someone to assist them in some of the daily duties and hence the need for a paralegal lawyer. These are young learned individuals well trained to carry the tasks on legal assistants. They assist the attorneys in handling legal matters. A paralegal lawyer is formally trained and has experience in legal matters, they can make legal judgments but they have to be clarified by a licensed attorney. A paralegal lawyer works in attorney’s office, corporations, governmental organizations and major companies. Some of the duties carried on by a paralegal lawyer include supporting the attorney in daily tasks such as case research, documentation of legal information, conduct general interviews with the clients, summarizing interrogations, testimonies and depositions, attend to meetings such as real estate closings, administrative hearings and attend to the court hearings with the attorney. A paralegal lawyer is also responsible of drafting legal documents that may be related to researched information and correspondence among other tasks.

For one to qualify as a paralegal, they have to be licensed in most of the states although the requirements differ from one state to the other. Some of the required qualifications include a certification in legal assistant studies, a degree in any house with six or more months of in house training and other law related qualifications from accredited institutions. With all the required qualifications achieved, the paralegal is still restricted to the much he/she can perform. For instance, a paralegal lawyer cannot represent a client in court.
