Things to Do When Your Whirlpool Refrigerator is Not Working

1. If your refrigerator is not functioning, do not panic. Usually the most disregarded action is to check if its electrical cord is plugged. If it is, plug it in another socket to test if the problem is just the socket. You can also check the circuit breaker of your house to make sure it is on.
2. If you think your refrigerator is not getting any cooler, do not rush to the service center just yet. First, check the temperature since it might have been adjusted by someone else. Reset the controls of the temperature. Also, ensure that there are no blockages on its air vents.
3. If you cannot fill a glass of water through the water dispenser, you can check if the water valve is turned off and just switch it on if it is. Also, installation of the water valve can also be the cause. Simply reinstall it if this is the case.
4. If the door of the refrigerator is hard to open, or if is not closing properly, the shelves may not be in the proper position. It can also be due to some food packages that protrude and prevent the door from closing. Aside from these, clean the door gaskets with soap and water because accumulated dirt may keep the door close or open.
5. Some Whirlpool refrigerator models have problems with the icemaker. If you have just installed the appliance, it normally takes a day to make ice. You also need to attach the refrigerator to your water supply. Do not forget to switch on the supply shutoff valve so you can get ice. If the ice produced is not crystal clear or have extraordinary taste, put water filter to take out the unwanted minerals.
