Firebug is a type of Firefox application that is able to reveal the available mistakes and bugs that may be harboring on a website. The feature enables mistakes on CSS code 
or HTML and will be in a position to detect if there is anything that isn’t working. Changes can also be made to sites code and be able to view it. This helps in copying edited code and also being able to paste into the file that is on the server one wants to apply changes to and in turn allowing modifications to be made on the templates.
Before you get to the instructions, download Firebug if you haven’t already at Get FireBug.
To use firebug:

On the tools menu in the Firefox browser and then find add-ons and select it. A new window pops up as a result. The first option one will find is at the top of the menu, which states “Get Add-ons,” and then find fire bug.

Click on the firebug and at this point the screen separates into two different parts .The first side will be the website that is being visited and the other side contains firebug and a code for what one is watching. One is now able to navigate the two CSS and HTML codes before selecting on one to check on.

Select the different sections found on the site that will be located at the bottom half on the screen. The area that has been selected will be highlighted as a result of this action. This will make it possible for one to identify a bug.

It important to note that the CSS code is usually seen at the right hand side of the screen. This allows one to make changes just to have a picture of how it would look like if no modifications are made on the original file. Once the changes to be made have been identified, one can continue with the editing program.

Once Firefox is left running and the template is also open, one can simply hit the F12 button and it will be able to open the debugger and this will lead one to directly inspect tab
Even though most people use the firebug to do hardcore coding and inspecting javascript, the Firefox can be also used in most cases for modifications and template design such as the joomla type of template and this can be done in a short period of time. Firefox’s firebug comes in handy in identifying any mistakes and bugs on a website.
