How to Tint Auto

 

Auto tints are very much helpful nowadays. It has a lot of advantages for car owners. Aside from giving you privacy, it also helps block the harmful UV rays from the sun. It’s an added shade when the sun is too bright and hot especially during the summer season. If you have been driving for years and do a lot of driving during the day, you’ve probably experienced getting one hand or one arm tanned while your other one stays just like what your normal skin color is. It’s funny because sometimes, the sun is directly hitting one side thus burning you on just one side. An auto tint will help you avoid that. Before we start, prepare the following tools to tint your auto:

  1. Blade Eater brand tool
  2. Dishwashing Soap
  3. Spray Bottles
  4. Blow Dryers
  5. Small Sponges
  6. X-Acto Knives
  7. Men’s Razor Blades
  8. Bone Tools
  9. Heat Guns
  10. 4-inch Squeegees
  11. Window Tinting Film

Now, we’re ready to learn how to tint auto. Go through these steps one by one.

  1. First, cut your window tinting film in the shape of the windows. If you prefer, while your windows are up, place a white cardboard and trace the shape of the window. Cut the white cardboard and test it out in your window. If it’s the perfect shape, use that cardboard to trace your film and cut. Once your film is cut, set aside on a glass board.
  2. Now, it’s time to clean the windows. Spray the side window with your water and soap mixture.
  3. Remove any residue by using a razor over the side window.
  4. Also, remove residue from top to bottom with the use of a squeegee, about 4 inches in size.
  5. Now, it’s time to apply the tint to your side window. Leave about ΒΌ to 1/16 inch from the top end without film. This area will be covered when your windows are up.
  6. Now, using the bone tool, push the tint inside the window’s inner rubber seals.
  7. You can also use the hard card just to check that the tint goes through all the corners.
  8. Now using the blow dryer or heat gun, heat the window on one side starting from the top as you use a squeegee on the other side of the window in a horizontal motion. This step helps remove the moisture between your window’s glass and the tint or film.
  9. Do the same steps to the windshield.
  10. Do the same steps in number 2 and 4 to apply the tint to the rear window without the use of the razor blade as it may damage your defroster.
  11. Note down the number of defroster lines in your rear window.
  12. Then cut the film for the rear window into the number of defroster lines.
  13. First install the last panel going to the top, overlapping two panels to identify where the defroster line is.
  14. Now, trim the covers the defroster lines.
  15. Follow the drying process above and you’re done.
