Any item can be bought and sold on eBay. However to be able to sell any item on eBay one needs an eBay account. This is done by registering as a user. If a person is registered as a user with an established account they can easily trade on eBay.
- Create a listing of the items intended to be sold. Ensure that the product can be sold on eBay by checking the list of prohibited items such as live animals except live fish.
- Indicate the prices and description of the item being sold. They can also be entered in categories in order to make them easy to find. When setting prices of the items consider the prices set by other sellers on eBay.
- Take photos of the eBay item in order to attract the clients to it. Highlight any unique features of the items in the photos as well as any pre-existing conditions that would discourage one from buying the items.

- Select the selling format for the item. The format for auction can vary from one item to another while several items can be placed on auction.
- Enter the selling prices for the items on auction. The starting price should be relatively low while retaining a reserve price.
- Enter the duration in which the listing will be available for sale. The listings should bear the names and contacts of the sellers.
- Enter the accepted mode of payment for the items once a sale has taken place. This will include such modes like through money orders or checks.
- Using shipping wizard indicate the shipping details on the listed items such as the transport costs and shipping options and other details related to shipping such as the details on insurance during shipping and the means of transportation.
- Enter the cost of shipping and handling of the goods as well as insurance costs where the seller is to insure the goods on the buyer’s behalf.
- Once the listing is done, follow the etiquette and rules in order to successfully qualify for the auction.
Always be available to answer any questions on the product during the auction. After successfully selling an item, ensure that they are delivered to the buyers in time.
