Being on vacation is fun and relaxing but the preparation can be tedious- from deciding where to go until packing your stuffs before you leave. You want to make sure everything you need is in your luggage and is neatly packed to easily remember where you placed your things. Read through this guide and learn how to pack in order to have a more stress-free vacation. Always remember, pack lightly and smartly!
- First and foremost, you have to choose the right luggage for your trip. Always consider the length of your travel, the purpose of your trip, and the expected activities in order to know the size of suitcase you are going to use.
- Bring out all the things you are going to take with you to be able to organize everything in your luggage. In this way, you can see which ones should go together and should be on top and bottom.

- To avoid or at least reduce the wrinkling of your clothes, roll them. You can tightly roll two to three pieces of clothes together to make a bigger radius which means lesser crease.
- Use dry-cleaner plastic bags for clothes that need to be hanged such as coats. This reduces wrinkling as well although this can take up a lot of space in your suitcase.
- The bottom layer of your luggage should be the heavy stuffs such as boots. You do not want them on top since they can crumple your clothes.
- The next layer should have the clothes that are not rolled like jeans since these are too thick to roll. This is also where you should position your garments that are placed in individual plastic bags.
- Now, the clothes that you rolled should be on the top layer. Make sure they tightly fit your suitcase. You do not want any spaces left since this can unroll some of your clothes when you move your luggage from one place to another.
- You can always put your toiletries and other stuffs on the sides to fill up the spaces.
- The pockets are not simply a design of your bag. You can always make use of the pockets of your luggage to put in the rest of your things.
- Aside from your luggage, always have a hand carry that you will bring inside the aircraft or train. There are times that suitcases are accidentally brought to the wrong destination therefore make sure your carry-on baggage should have at least clothes that would last for two days, your medication, and other things that you cannot avoid losing.
- Also for most airports nowadays, any form of liquid like lotion, shampoo, water, etc. is not allowed inside the plane. Therefore take them out of your hand carry and handbag, instead put them inside your luggage that will be checked-in.
- Lastly, do not forget to lock your luggage! You might lose your stuffs inside your bag or worst, somebody might even plant something like a bomb or drugs, that can point a crime on you. It is better to be safe than sorry!
