How to Hang a Picture

Although it might seem like a simple task, the way a picture is hung can determine whether one enhances their room décor or ruins it. There are some tools with which one may need to arm themselves to hang pictures on their wall. Some of the tools are:

  1. Pencils
  2. Hammers
  3. Levels
  4. Common nails
  5. Picture hangers
  6. Measuring tapes
  7. Stud finders.
  • The first step of hanging a picture is to decide where it will go on the wall. A small picture should not be hung on a wall that is very wide. If it is a piece of art it should extend furniture door ways or window lines. Additionally, several small art pieces look better when they are hung together.hang a picture How to Hang a Picture
  • The weight of a picture also matters. If the picture is heavy it should go on the beam or wall stud; they can fall off if hung anywhere else. Lighter ones on the other hand can go on the wall board.
  • After deciding the picture’s location you should hold it up and make markings of the picture’s position or the frame’s top edge position using a pencil. Choosing of the correct hook to use is the next step of hanging a picture. One may want to use nail plus hook that are two- piece or hollow-wall anchors for the heavy pieces.
  • Taking the picture’s measurement should be done from its hanging tab or from a taut wire to the top of the frame’s edge. The distance should be measured coming from the earlier made pencil markings and the spot marked. The spot you mark is where you will place the hook.
  • You should then nail the picture on the spot you had marked and hang the picture. If one would rather use Velcro, he or she should remember to take away the cover which is usually self adhesive. If mirror plates are the chosen materials, you should mark the wall, drill the appropriate holes and hang the picture.
