The important components that help people get a six-pack are training style, mindset and nutrition. A good balance should be struck between an intake of proteins, fats and carbs. The recommended foods are natural unprocessed organic foods because they are usually as close to their natural state as possible. These foods are healthier than packaged foods, processed foods and fast foods. Overeating healthy foods does not mean that one will not gain extra fat. It is impossible to get a six pack without gaining fat as well. To avoid and cut down on the fats the calories consumed daily need to be controlled to levels that promote fat loss.
Correct Diet and Exercise
A six-pack comes from correct exercise. Too much cardio exercise can cause one to lose lean muscle mass. This would result in a reduced resting metabolic rate meaning that the body is not burning fat when the person is at rest. High intensity weight training is recommended instead of excess cardio exercise. It ensures that the metabolic rate does not decrease in order to maintain lean muscle all over the body. Most people prefer to put on muscles not fat but this does not mean taking in too little fat. This would interfere with the muscle building and fat burning hormones. In other people very low fat intake results in reduced testosterone levels. Healthy fats should accompany every meal. Healthy fats can be derived from avocados, nuts like almonds and walnuts, seeds of pumpkins and sunflower, nut butters like natural peanut butter, virgin coconut oil that provides medium chain triglycerides, whole eggs, extra virgin olive oil and from grass fed beef that supplies omega 3s and conjugated linoleic acid.
Keeping ones motivation high
Many people who start the training process to get six packs lose motivation along the way when results do not come as fast as they had expected. They forget that no exercise is easy or immediately guarantees results. To keep ones morale high the person needs to focus on the successes achieved so far. For example if ones pull-ups or squat weight has increased it is something to be proud of since it means the body is becoming more powerful and prepared for even more difficult exercises that build the six pack. Training with a partner is a good way of keeping one focused and makes the exerciser accountable to someone other than himself or herself.
