How to Cut Bangs

 

Bangs need to be trimmed for several reasons. Maintaining one’s appearance or sharpening the look will be good reasons to cut those bangs. Going to a salon to have the bangs cut sounds like an easier option. However, you can cut the bangs and do a very good job of it. Furthermore, it is a very easy task that also takes not very much of your time. The good thing is that you need not have done it before. Even first timers can do it very well by simply following a few simple steps.

You will need to assemble a few accessories for your task. These include:

  • High quality functional scissors
  • Clips with which to hold excess hair
  • Styling gel
  • One blade disposable razor blade
  • Mirror secured in position from where you can view yourself

Once you have all the tools and are ready you can the process underway by going through the following steps:

  • Cut your bangs when in a dry position. You can get this condition by applying gel to the bangs in case they are oily. You can also let them to dry by themselves.
  • The hair that is not being cut should be isolated to one side. This can be done using a comb and the hair could be secured using a bobby pin or pony tail. This should leave out only the bangs on which you need to work.
  • Decide on the length of bang you want to cut. You can use the outer edge of the eyebrows to help you in determining how far you should go. Hold out one half of the bang using a tooth comb at the point at which you want to cut them out.
  • You can proceed by cutting out the hair that forms the bang from an angle that is forty five degrees. This should help to maintain an almost perfect straight line.
  • The point cutting of the bang should be done systematically until all the hair above the cutting point has been cut.
  • Once one half is finished you can proceed to secure the other half after which you should cut it using the same procedure as you did the first half. If the bangs appear to be too dense you can opt to make the securing and cutting easier by dividing them into several layers.

This procedure should be repeated upon all the other bangs to ensure an even pattern of well cut bangs.
