Anxiety is something that most people suffer from. Anxiety is that anticipation of something bad to happen in the future. It is that something that we fear from happening. It is that thought of having to lose something or have less of something we love. It is a common thought that is experienced by a lot of people suffering from anxiety.
Humans desire to be happy in all aspects. And so when we move away from those happy thoughts, that’s when we tend to fear of something. And that fear leads to anxiety. If you’re still not getting what I’m trying to say, let’s take a look at a few examples. A very good example is the current economy that we’re in. When recession had hit us, we heard a lot of news of a lot of companies laying-off employees. Being an employee, one may think, “could I be next?” Fearing that we may lose our job which is the source of our income, the source of our money that puts food in the table, buy our luxuries, bring the
kids to school, and pay the car loan or mortgage, can be tough to handle. That’s when anxiety begins. Each day you go to work, you fear that your company might be announcing a major restructuring and that hundreds or even thousands of employees might be let go just like the other companies being reported in the news. Will you be one of them? When you feel more pressure not just with work but in all aspects of life, that’s when anxiety takes a toll on you. The more you feel pressured or stressed, the more you experience anxiety. But what you should know is that you can handle these things in a more positive way. You can cure anxiety.
Anxiety isn’t good for us. You may think that it’s just a state of mind. But that state of mind can lead to various diseases. It can put a strain in our brains that can lead to not taking care of ourselves, our bodies. Some people who experience anxiety tend to start bad habits like for example smoking, drinking, insomnia, skipping meals, mood swings or disorders, and many others. But you should understand that anxiety won’t help us face the future. Smoking, drinking, not sleeping, and skipping meals will not help you face what’s to come tomorrow. At the same time, it could lead you to depression, a dangerous condition that is often fatal.
But you know what? It’s actually easy to cure anxiety as long as you are aware that you’re in that state. Observing your actions and yourself will help yourself keep away from being anxious and depressed. When you’re being a keen observer, you get to be aware of what you’re doing and in turn, instead of focusing on fear, you focus on yourself. Be more optimistic. Count your blessings instead of thinking of negative things. Soon enough, you’ll see that you are able to cure anxiety on your own without having to go talk to psychologists or take anti-depressant medications.
