There are several types of cuts of steak. In fact, it may differ depending on where you live. The names of this steak cuts may also vary. So let’s just discuss the most popular ones. Here you will learn tips on how to cook steak. You’ll get to learn the usual methods of cooking each of the various popular steak cuts you’ll find in the market today. Not all steak cuts can be grilled. On the other hand most steak recipes require marinating. So is you want to learn these things, let’s get started!

  1. The Blade, also known as the Bolar, is the steak cut from the neck. It can also come from the brisket and shoulder. This cut is usually braised but it can also be grilled or fried after being marinated. However, it’s not usually the first choice when it comes to steak cuts. As previously mentioned, it’s best for braised recipes.

  2. The Chuck steak is the cut coming from the shoulder area. When using as a steak, make sure to trim it carefully. It is also used for braised and casserole dishes.

  3. Another steak cut is the Club Steak. It is also known as the wing rib. It’s not only used for steaks but for roasting as well. It is actually a superb cut of meat which means a bit expensive to buy. But it definitely is worth it. Most of the club steaks you’ll find would be at hotels and fine dining restaurants. This comes from the small part of the carcass made up of two ribs.

  4. The Tenderloin or the Eye Fillet steak is among the most justifiable expensive steak cut. You can find the tenderloin under the sirloin and there’s not much of it. Thus, the higher price. This middle back cut is perfect for barbecue, broiler, and steaks. It can also be eaten raw by finely chopping it as in the Steak Tartare.

  5. Flank cut is another choice for your steak. It is the unkindest cut coming from the underside of the carcass. It’s just a bit forward of the back legs. Though it can be used for steaks, it’s best to use for slow cookers or crock pots, braising, and casseroles as it requires extended cooking.

  6. The New York cut, English Porterhouse, or the French Entrecote all refers to one of the tastiest of all steaks. You’ll just need to remove filaments of gristle under the fat. The T-bone steak is made up of two cuts where one is this New York cut. It is also known as the Sirloin Steak.
