The preparation method is as follows.

  1. Thoroughly wash and rinse the prime ribs with clean water.
  2. Any excess fat should be removed. However the outer fat should be kept as this will act as a protective covering when the rib is being cooked and it also enhances the flavor of the roast. Before cooking the prime rib keep it at room temperatures for about 2 hours as this will allow it to cook evenly.
  3. The oven should be preheated to about 450 degrees F. Before placing the ribs to the oven, sprinkle a little bit of salt and pepper on the ribs. A meat thermometer should be inserted at the middle of the roast. The thermometer is used for ensuring that the needed heat level is maintained.
  4. Cook the rib at higher temperatures of 450 degrees F for about 15 minutes then reduce the oven to temperatures of about 350 degrees F until the ribs have cooked properly. The roast should be left cooking until internal temperature reach levels of up to 120 degrees F.
  5. Once the desired temperature has been achieved the roast should be removed from the oven and left to cool for about 25 minutes before carving.
  6. Remove the strings tied to the roast using a clean knife.
  7. The roast should be kept at optimal temperatures before being served. To do this ensures that the serving plates are kept warm. This can be done either by placing the plates in hot water or they can be placed on the heat cycle in the dishwasher.
  8. Cut the rib roast into equal slices ready to be served.
