- Simply grab fresh beets and remove the leaves off. Leaves are also edible and can be steamed so you can keep those in your fridge. Once you’ve cut the leaves off, wash the beets to remove any dirt.
- Now, grab a pot and place your beets with water and boil for about 4o minutes up to an hour until you can pierce it with fork. If you used larger beet roots, you’ll need more cooking time.
- Once cooked, let cool the beets by letting it stand for a few minutes or place it under cool running water.
