Introduction
Beef is the name given to meat that comes from domestic cattle like cow. Beef is common in most parts of the planet but there are some sects and cultures that forbid it’s consumption. Beef is classified as red meat which basically refers to it’s color when it is still raw. Beef contains many nutrients and vitamins namely vitamin B-, proteins, iron and zinc. It also has low levels of fat which is good because it reduces blood cholesterol levels. There are many ways of cooking beef. The method one will use mainly depends on the cut of beef or to be precise the part of the animal one has. So it wise to choose wisely while buying meat at the market. Here we are going to show the various steps to follow to make a good fried beef meal.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kilogram of beef
- 2 finely chopped onions
- 4 ripe chopped tomatoes
- 6 cloves garlic
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- Freshly chopped coriander
- Black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 500ml to 1 liter water
Preparation
Make sure you wash the beef properly to get rid of bacteria. Put water and the beef in a cooking pot and heat it. Leave it for about 20 minutes to make the beef soft and also kill any remaining bacteria in the meat. Add the olive oil on a different cooking pot and add onions and wait till the get brown. Add the tomatoes and stir properly until the tomatoes grind. Mix the garlic, black pepper, salt, and the chopped coriander in a bowl until the mixture is evenly spread. Add the boiled beef to the tomato mixture and wait for about 10 minutes for it to come together. Add the mixture in the bowl to the cooking pan and leave it for another 15 minutes. Make sure to cover the pot at this level to maintain the moisture and also make sure you don’t lose any nutrients from the beef. Remove the cooking pot from the heat and give it a few more minutes before serving. After the few minutes the food will now be ready to eat. This meal can serve 4 to 6 people.
Accompaniments
Beef can be accompanied by a variety of other meals or it can also be eaten on it’s own. It all depends on the individual’s choice. Rice is regarded is the most common accompaniment among others. Others include fried potatoes, spaghetti among others.
