  1. Prepare a small pot and place the raw egg inside.
  2. Pour cold water into the pot until the egg or eggs are covered up to an inch above it.
  3. Now, put the pot on the stove top and cover the pot.
  4. Put the heat in medium setting and bring to a boil.
  5. Once your water starts boiling, reduce the heat to low setting and uncover the pot or leave some space for it to vent.
  6. While at low heat, simmer for a few more minutes. If you want soft-boiled eggs, you only need about 3 more minutes. If you want hard-boiled eggs however, simmer it for 15 minutes more.
  7. Once done, remove the egg/eggs from the pot and let it cool slowly on a bowl. You can also run cold water over the eggs to let it cool quickly.

The tip with hard boiled eggs is to use older eggs. This way, it will easily peel properly.
