The hot tubs have always been a great way of relaxing after working very late. Sitting in the tubs drinking beer or even a glass of wine is refreshing indeed. The hydrojets on the other hand, will massage people’s aching muscles. To build a hot tub, all builders and prospective tub owners should look at the specifications and materials of constructing the tubs. The latter include table saws, tape measures, chalk lines, nine concrete piers, 16-penny nails, stakes hammers, 2 x 4 boards and 2 x 10 boards. One will also have to go through the construction guidelines:-
- Mark the location where one would like to construct the frames of the hot tubs by measuring 7ft of two sides and 6ft of the other two sides. The measurements will be determined by the hot tub sizes. After that, lines should be snapped to ensure that the entire lines are straight.
- Place concrete piers in every corner by ensuring one is on every side and the other at the centre; add up to nine piers in total. Frames should then be constructed within the base area by using 2 x 10 sizes that have been trimmed to the required sizes. This will be followed by inserting them at the concrete slots of the piers. The corners will then be nailed together by means of the sixteen penny nails.
- Construct the base regions with the 2 x 10 boards that will be criss crossed then nailed jointly where they connect. The edges should then be inserted in the concrete piers when they are accessible. In cases where there are no pier slots at the boards’ ends, the ends of other boards should be used instead.
- Install baseboards sandwiched between seventeen inches and twenty inches at the central regions. Then, they ought to be systematically secured to the frames for the best support.
- Cut twenty two 2 x 4 boards and making sure that they are 3ft tall and vertically nailing them in the region of the base plates, which will eventually be sixteen inches at the central part. Two boards will then be perpendicularly nailed together at every corner to generate corners.
- Nail the four 2 x 10 boards in a way that they will be transversely placed at the top region of those vertical boards in order to generate the top plates. After that, they are supposed to be nailed together using the sixteen penny nails.
- The last stage would entail placing the nails that have the length of eighteen inches and are 2 x 10 diagonally so that they support each other after which they ought to be nailed in place.
With all these, the hot tub will have the best qualities and ready to use. Always check on the tub incase any adjustments are needed.
